Well 15+ dives on the Zainab (21 miles off the coast of Dubai) and this wreck ceases to amaze me. Conditions have varied from 1-20m viz, with an abundance of life from turtles, dolphins, black tips, the odd tiger shark , morays (upto 8 feet long with big ****in teeth), stingrays and much, much more.
Penetration on the wreck is ok and a wierd feeling (even after 6 or 7 times inside) the orientation of diving a wreck that is on its side is spooky....
Currents can be strong but its all worth it, if you dont get back to the anchor line a mid water safety stop in a current is strange but somewhat amazing feeling. Deploying our SMB's and surfacing 100+ yards away from the boat waiting for a pickup is at 1st daunting, especially if there was a tiger shark on the wreck, brown trouser time
Really need to get myself an underwater case for my camera and log some of this.
Back mid August so hopefully get out for a few dives..
This sounds really good Ian, did we tell you that the vis in the Delph is now in excess of 7 METRES, yes!! It's excellent, now we can see all the wrecks and planes in there.
But tell me, why do you dive in brown trousers? Surely a wetsuit would be better!!!
Watch this space for local dives when you come back. Marlin is taking the RIB out quite regularly these days.
Se you soon
