Christmas Dive

After a fab day out at Stoney Cove last year on Wednesday 28th December, I was wondering if we were arranging a similar event between Christmas and New Year this year. I need to plan cover at work so in order to get my needs in first.........!!

Rumour has it that it will again be on the 28th.

There may well be a pre Christmas visit arranged by the Rufty Tufty club, which will be a mid week venture (Wednesday or Thursday - though Thursday seems to be the favoured day).

Will keep you posted.

I AM SUPPOSED TO BE DOING MY DEEP DIVE FOR MY ADVANCED CERTIFICATION.

HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE MY FINAL DIVE FOR THIS.

It may also be of interest to some of you that Travel Lodge are offering £15 a night rooms over Christmas.  For those who have the time and the inclinination, why not travel down to Stoney Cove on Wednesday 27th, stay over night and get up at a reasonable hour the next day.

Remember, cold, dark, frosty or icy morning.  Getting up 5.30 to meet at Knutsford before dawn to drive in the cold and dark or - search for a room close to LE9 4DW  see link

Great idea, think we will be booking that one for the night. Any particular Travelodge, from the list on their website    There are quite a few around the Stoney Postcode. Assuming you might want to share our company the night before!

Bye for now

I think Lutterworth is the closest and has availability for the 27th, think we're going with that one!  Looks as good as any other Travelodge for £15

L'il Steve! I'd watch out for ScubaOne if I were you! He hasn't posted his confirmation for the Paintball yet but Dr Del has already put your name down!!  And, if you listen really carefully you might just hear him whistling the theme tune to "The good, the bad and the ugly!!"

Just booked a room at Lutterworth for 27th so it looks like I'll be there!

So what's all this diving thing about, I vaguely remember doing that once!

Ooh! Lots of people now going to Lutterworth, centre of somewhere, for the pre dive warm up - so to speak.

ScubaOne mentioned a nice place called The Greyhound.  I have checked it and it's a nice looking place for an evening meal and glass of wine http://www.greyhoundinn.co.uk/default.asp

They reckon they can accommodate up to 8 people for evening meal without booking (10 and over they would need prior warning) and the varied menu starts from a couple of quid upwards. So far I think there are 8 of us staying over

Why does the Travelodge website say £39 for a room at Lutterworth instead of £15???

Is it just a new offer that doesn't appear on their site?

Just to add to the confusion, we paid £26!

Because supersaver rooms have to be booked 21 days in advance.  We booked on 20 November thus grabbing a bargain.   I can only think that the nearer the booking date, the dearer the room. On the home page it has a red banner with Supersaver rooms for £15 and the T&C.

Looks like Dr Del and Terry just made it, but did you also get your free bottle of bubbly?
