Just thinking out aloud here and with the rising cost of weights, has anybody ever been diving at local fishermans haunts, where the anglers lose copius amounts of lead?
A friend of mine can manufacture me a mould in the shape of 1 and 2kg dive weights (similar to that of fishing weight moulds).
My idea, if plauseable, would be to dive these sites with a buddy and 1 or 2 people on terrafirma to help retrieve the lead.
I know that lead weights normally snap off when they get tangled on weed or rocks which I assume would make diving a bit hazardous.
