The Club

Someone asked me what you had to do to join our club, I said just turn up, however he had been told that it was only open to those who trained with FFS. is this so?

I didn't think so, it wouldn't make sense as John and Tommy would lose out on the prospect of them doing more advanced courses with FFS

As far as I was aware there was only one rule in this club and that's that there are no rules! (apart from when we're diving)

If we want a set of club rules can I suggest these (as a founding member)!

Club Rules

Hi Del

When we put FFS diver training together we said that there would be a club to run along side the dive school so people could get a buddy easily, therefore it was suggested a joining fee of £30.00 a year would have to be paid by the person wanting to join the club, but this suggestion was scrapped and we said that anyone who does a course with FFS diver training would automatically become a member of the club.

So you are right in a way that there is only one rule, and that there are no rules.

As a member of the club you are entitled to discounts/special offers on couses and equipment hire if required, as shown on the forum.

Many Thanks THE ONE

You haven't answered my question, can he join us, after all if he does he may take some courses with you anyway, which is more work for you?

At the moment we are just a bunch of guys (and gals) who dive together, have a meeting and occasionally go off somewhere exotic (like the Delph) If we ever want to get equipment like some of the BSAC clubs have - RIBS, clubhouses etc. we would need to make it more formal, I don't mind paying a membership fee and subs if we get something back from it.

Ok del,

Who his this person, who wants ot come along to the club are thay open water or above, how many dives, when di thay last dive and so on. let me know. Because I wan't let people come along who we have never seen diving before. So if thay want to come along to the pool one wednesday, thay are more then wecome to but if thay don't, then thay don't join the club. As I don't think it fair on other divers to buddy with them, if thay don't know what kind of diver thay are.

I dont know about you other guys (collective no gender reference) but I see the "Club" as a collection of mates who dive together.  If you bring someone you dive with them first.  I know I am probably unqualified to talk about actual getting wet diving due to my retired status, but i thought I would put my twopenneth worth in anyway.
